Anyhow, Ivy Rose has started smiling the last couple weeks. She actually has smiled from day one in her sleep. And no, its not gas. Its literally called "sleep smiling" and its an unconscious reaction to being content,warm,happy etc. Very cool. But now she's giving us huge gummy smiles,especially daddy, little flirty girl that she is.
The only problem we are having is that she sleeps well only on her stomach now. Great. She has amazing naps during the day, but at night when I can't watch her is only ok if she's on her side...sigh. Must be because she gets so gassy. However her neck is SO strong already she can lift it completely up while laying down, and look side to side. But lordy, she slept 5 HOURS last night in a row again..from 2 till after 7....so much better than Kade was at this age.
Kade is doing amazing, it took him a couple weeks to settle into not having all mom's attention, but all our company that came to help saved the day. (thank you, thank you, Mom, Dad, Karami and Kandice!) He's now just amazing with her, running to get her pippy (soother)when she's fussing, always saying "Don't cry baby Ivy, its ok" and rubbing her hair. I took them to West Ed on our first excursion by ourselves and he listened so well I thought someone had replaced my kid! He hung onto the stroller, didn't run away once, listened when it was time to leave the rides..I think we are making a weekly excursion of it since he's free until he turns three, and the weather is getting colder now.
We went to Dauphin to visit my grandma, and she was very happy to see Kade and meet Ivy for the first time. We only spent three days there, but took 2 days each way to travel, so we were gone a week, Brrrr Manitoba is cooold and snowy!
Happy Belated Birthday to our little friend Jordan, I can't believe how fast time goes! Almost time for you to be a big sister!!
We are down to Calgary the weekend of the 11th for the party, Jen and I will be sending out that email as soon as I write up good directions to my parents house for y'all. Erin, can you try and have the baby before then? Thanks. That would be convienient for us. LOL!! Just kidding!
I am sooo looking forward to seeing everyone. Its been a long 6 weeks.
