Telus Picnic and the Fringe

We went to the Telus picnic this Sunday and had a great time, we were almost ready to leave when we noticed they were starting the games. Kade did an AWESOME job in the relay race. He had to run to one line, put on a hat and a lei and a CANDY bracelet. (the highlight of his day!) Then the next line he had to sit on a balloon and break it (talk about brave!) then he had to take a lid of water and run to the next line and dump it in a bowl, then run alllll the way back to the beginning and tag the next person. What fun!

His ill-gotten gains from the relay race, he worked DARN hard for these! He loved the candy bracelet, luckily he ignored all the other treats, had a few chews and was done. It was such a novelty, the kid is so easy to thrill.

Then the kids each got a telus treat bag, with candy (confiscated Lol) twisty straws, telus pens that are also bubble blowers, and..Telus Rabbits! Too cute! We'll add them to the growing Telus collection that mom keeps getting from various functions and team prizes.

Then today we went to the Fringe festival, the largest in North America. It was a great time, we met Becky and her boys at a park and walked there to meet Brandy and the girls.

The kids played in the bouncy castle and had it all to themselves for a few minutes, a rarity. Kade usually doesn't like them that much, but with his friends in it, it was all of a sudden fantastic.

We watched a story teller, who was pretty good. Kade only started to get restless the last 15 minutes

We had lunch from our favorite restaraunt, the New Asian Village, they had a booth at the festival. Kade scarfed back the saffron rice and butter chicken while taking in a magician show. He graciously shared his lunch with mom too.

There was a little petting zoo, Kade loved this tiny chicken, it was so tame.

And by the end of the busy and fun-filled day, they both curled up and napped in the chariot, so cute!
