Walk For the Cure

Well we had great weather, crisp and sunny, for the walk this morning. It was an amazing experience, but they really need to call it "walk 5 km with breast cancer survivors and families and try not to cry". Seriously. You would see ladies in pink (survivors) walking arm in arm with their families, or people who had their racecards (what we wore on our backs) filled out with "I'm walking for", and then either "my mom" "my aunt" or "me"...or sometimes a picture of a person printed on them....so you're walking and reading the cards, or watching the survivors and their families....

When Mike and I picked up our packages with our t-shirts, Kade was upset that he didn't get one of his own, so I made the kids their own to wear today.

Kade was SO thrilled, I had made it last night when he was sleeping, and he was so excited to put on "his" special shirt.

And then the walk....I am curious how many people there were, it was huge. Oh, and more tv cameras and photographers. You would think we were media hungry, that's two events in one weekend.

hehehe read his shirt.....I loved some of the team names...

Kade was seriously scared of this thing, and do we blame him? Look at the freaky ass smile..."come here little boy and give me a hug"....run away run away!!!!!

And the finish line. We made it in one hour 10 minutes, which is amazing considering Kade walked a large part of it! He booked !

Thanks again to everyone who donated, it was really appreciated, we will be doing this next year and hitting you up for cash again! If you had been able to walk in with all these survivors, you really could get a feel for where and to who your money is going...there are some amazing, courageous women out there.
