The Weekend

This weekend was a very busy and unplanned one. Friday (planned) we had Kaeli and Regan over while Brandy and Sean moved into their new house (far too exciting!) and we had a really good day. You would think that a house of 4 kids for a day would scare me off more children entirely. Au contraire, it made me see how lovely it is to have enough kids that they entertain each other! What a great concept that is.

However, 4 kids does mean 4 times the mess....craft time was quite...uh...well, the kids learned the phrase "looks like a tornado hit " LOL!
Then even tho I fought tooth and nail we ended up going to Calgary Saturday morning, which happened to be decided on Saturday morning while in our jammies. So after me beaking and complaining we finally got ready in a whirlwind of activity(*with me still complaining*) and left. We had Kade's birthday get together on Sunday afternoon, which turned out well because Auntie Kandice and Uncle Dan were able to come, and they wouldn't have the next weekend. Jen, Gaby and the girls also joined as well and Kade and Rebecca had a great time. They get along so well together.

Kade received some fantastic winter activity gifts, Mr Potatohead (AND mr cornhead and mr carrothead how cool is THAT!) as well as a playdoh activity center. We have many many hours of snowbound entertainment ahead of us. He also got the Cars movie from nana and papa (oh was he a happy boy!) so we're stealing Tims' idea and ripping it to the computer then burning a parent edited copy that we like better LOL. Add on some new jammies, Robert munsch books and a hoodie for under his vest from Auntie Karami and uncle trevor and what a spoiled kid!
The cake that nana made him, now I have to attempt one myself for his birthday party here at home.He was thrilled with Auntie Karami's Nemo card..

Lydia, who is one month older than Ivy.

And after a nice breakfast with Auntie Kandice this morning, we headed right into crappy weather. It took us from shortly after 11 until 5 to get home. Almost 6 hours!!! The roads were awful the whole trip home. We saw a flipped semi, countless cars in the ditch, two accidents, so scarey. I wish I had remembered that I had the camera for the flipped semi, what a sight that was. I clued in about 1/2 hour from home and took this picture. We are very very very glad to be home!
