Kade learning to paddle with a volunteer. Our canoeing attempt was a DISASTER ! We waited for about 20 minutes, finally got in the canoe, and Ivy is trying to throw herself overboard the whole time. So. I am sitting up front with Ivy pinned standing up between my knees (ever pin a toddler between your knees hard enough that they won't fall overboard? You will find new muscles, trust me) all while then using my hands to paddle the damn canoe. So I had a screaming 17 month old and then Kade decided he was scared and wanted to go back. On the way back some guy in another canoe trys to tell us how to do it, and let me tell you, he almost got an oar to the head. Two screaming children, we are 10 feet from the dock, and YOU want to give me paddling advice?? That oar almost ended up where the sun don't shine.
Scarfing the breakfast...

Examining the water life. It was pretty cool, there were tadpoles, whirlygigs, a crawfish and assorted other bugs in there.

Then the kids got to muck around in pools filled with, well, sludge I guess, and look for their own bugs. You took the water to a microscope and looked to see what was there.

Kade getting casting lessons, the volunteer was so patient. Actually, all the volunteers were fantastic and I take my hat off to them for a job well done. All of them were so nice and kind to the kids.

And then just a pic of Sushi boy. He's the only kid I know who wants Sushi instead of McD's. Mike was really late from work two nights in a row so Friday I asked Kade what we wanted to go out and get for supper for a treat. I couldn't convince him otherwise, it was sushi all the way. Sucks cause I really wanted McD's darn it.

Then tonight we made a fort outside and all of us sat under there when it rained, the kids would run outside then dash back under, this was a hit. Made me want to camp tho, not that I like rain while camping, but its not bad if you have a tarp set up, it can be rather cosy. We have to get out to Miquelon to book some spots I think, camping fever is starting.

We are ready to camp too. We cheat with a 32 ft trailer though. Why not. We did 10yrs of camping with a tent when the boys were young, so we did earn our trailer. We had pouring rain all day, looks like you got some sun. They are starting to evacuate people in lower areas close to the rivers and dykes because of the flooding due to the snow melting on the mountains and the weather now. We are up high enough not to have to worry about it thank god.

Ohhhh...Tyson chooses sushi over McD's any day too!!
That river day looked fun.
It's really looking like the next time we'll see each other is the wedding week....oh maybe Regan's bday?
I'm not sure Hayden would take sushi over McD's, but he DOES love it.
