SO. What a busy day. We hit the ground running this morning and haven't stopped yet. And bear with me, everyone who attends with us, or already knows how it works, because I have a lot of friends/family who are interested in Kade's school and how it works, and this is a good forum for me to describe it to them all in one shot, which I will be a lot over his school year I am sure. I could probably even put it all on another blog for everyone who wanted to know, but this gives me material for this one ;)
You know what I love? The fact that the first hour of school families trickle in between 9 and 10, visit and play. Literally friends and family time. There's no "late" really, no one looking at you if you are running behind (that would be us today!) everyone is relaxed and settling into their day. This whole week is a gong show, with my scattered shifts and school and not getting into ANY routine yet until my schedule starts next week, and not stressing about being 20 minutes late today helped ALL 3 of us enjoy the morning, rather than a stressed out mom with two kids having to put up with her!
I also love that first thing Kade signed his name to a thank you letter to a neighbor who let the children pick apples off their tree, a very nice letter thanking them and telling them that they baked apple pies with the apples. Kade is mixed in with older grades so the older kids baked on the kindergartener's day off.
So they just played, which was the watertable again of course.

I sat and "played" chess with Tyson (I use this term loosely because I don't even know the names of the pieces, the kids were telling ME) I love this pic because he looks like he's pondering his next move..
After that was circle time, and the kids came up with their ideas for their "clubs" this year. Now I am not sure he's going to be able to manage them, but Kade "joined" (I use that term loosely) the Building Club (he calls it the construction club lol) the Yoga club and the Music club. Not sure that all 3 are going to be a go, BUT I think its probably a good way for him to learn how to whittle down to what he really enjoys and be able to pursue those 2, perhaps. Or 1. Or 3..lol.Then Ivy and I had to bolt home, grab carseats, lunch, etc, then meet Mike for lunch since he had no cash for gas. Don't ASK why he left bank cards and cash I pulled out yesterday at home. Argh.
And of course, tired out girl...

The kids were outside playing when we got back, and Ivy joined them.

Then circle time again, with a story, and then homemade apple pie to snack on!

Then we went with Beckie to get the carseats in her van looked at (she's watching the kids while I work so she needs seats for the kids in her van) and that was great, actually, they were very helpful and full of information. So we are all set to get into something that resembles a routine next week! Yay!
