The kids and I tackled roasting chestnuts for an activity this afternoon, Kade tasted them at school, but Ivy and I both had never made nor tried them. They are finicky, hit or miss with peeling, but very, very tasty!

One of the perfectly peeled ones...
We had a big dinner tonight, we made prime rib with all the fixin's. yum! Mike was so excited he actually made gravy. Yup, all out of the packet by himself!
This was Kade eating dinner...
And this was Ivy eating dinner....

After bathtime I told the kids they could open one gift, they got Solstice pj's lol! A lot more fun than opening them Christmas Eve, spreads out the fun!

I love that my kids are so excited about getting new pajamas, when I told them they could open a gift from us, and they saw it was jammies, there wasn't a single comment about it not being a toy, they were just so happy to have pj's.
Ivy the poser, I think Beckie taught her some tricks, she put this around her face and said "cheese!" without being asked.

Kade's are freaking hilarious! But at first he thought it was a costume because of the hat, we had to convince them he was to wear them to bed!(minus the head gear of course)
And ending the night with a Hedgehog from the box the neighbors gave us.
Just being cute. Ivy loves that moose, I am not sure why. She goes up to it, kisses it, hugs it, poses with it....crazy girl.
Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!

Cute!! Mrs. Clause, usually drops off jammies, a game and treats outside our door Christmas Eve...so we'll see what happens this year!! She might just bring the boys batman jammies like Kade's...they are so fun, huh?
And nope, no tricks taught to Ivy...my whole goal behind the camera is to get the kids NOT to say cheese...it produces way better, real smiles!
Hope you guys have a happy holiday!
Jax got the same pjs as Kade...he thought they were a costume too!
