Day Trip #1

We went on our first day trip, I think our goal is to try and get somewhere weekly this summer. This was to the Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary, which is out towards Devon. Ironically I lived only a couple km away from there when I was a kid, yet this was my first time there.

They had a great boardwalk system to look at the marshlands and even better rough trails, lots of bugs, but a nice walk.

The boys would plunk themselves down and play cars every once in a while. One of the viewing platforms, you can tell that the water has receded, hopefully we will get more rain and snow, how beautiful it must be when its full.


The boys had a great time plugging money into the donations box.

Some pics from the rough trails, the lilies were gorgeous, I mnanaged to get a handful of ripe saskatoons, (they're going to all be ready in a week or so...) and the butterflies were all over. I want to head back in a couple weeks because the fireweed is SO close to blooming and there's a huge area of it. It will be spectacular.

Other than the eye color difference, you could sure pick them out of a line up as brother and sister!
