Camping Weekend #1

We went on our first camping trip of the year and it was so much fun! But that much fun means just that many more pictures, so they are going to be split into two blog entries.

We went with Melissa, Brett, Brodie and Cooper to Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park which is up by Whitecourt. Absolutely gorgeous there, not too busy, the sites are well treed and far apart.

Here's the boys the first nigt. Notice its pitch black? They were up soooo late. Almost 11 I think by that time when it gets dark?


Here's Kade all snuggled up in the trailer. He had his blanket and was ready to sleep. He definitely thinks the trailer is the greatest thing since sliced bread. What excitement for a 2 year old boy!

We popped down to the dockside the next day to do some fishing, but were skunked. We kept asking all the 10 years olds who had stringers of fish what their secret was...but forgot that it was keeping your line in the water. Something that is impossible to do while trying to watch kids so they don't fall in, getting babies to sleep in shade... here's Mike giving it a try anyways. Ivy laying in her sling where Mom tried to lay her down for a nap after she fell asleep in it. Nope, she knew the moment she wasn't touching mom anymore and woke up.

Then we went down later on and rented a boat to rip around the lake on (yah right, at the big ol' 12 mph it was governed at). We were impressed that it only cost $17 an hour and they supplied the boat and lifejackets for all of us. Kade was THRILLED. We had a great time out on the water. Even Mom took a turn driving.


Mmmm Peanut Butter and Honey wraps...nothing like boating to work up an appetite!

And here's the rest of the gang, they only got 15 minutes in, but I'll let Melissa tell the story lol. All that matters is that there's a pic for the blog really.

And I took this one before we left,this is why I am going to start glueing her seat to the floor. She is trying so darn hard to get mobile. Kade was nice and lazy when he was little, not Ivy. She wants to go and go NOW. I find her on her stomach at least ten times a day because she's attempting this...
