Preschool Party

Kade and Ivy both got to go to his preschool party today, and other than the fact that Kade refused to wear his costume, we had a great, (hectic!) time. No matter who tried to cajole him, he was just NOT wearing that costume. He was the only kid without one, and I don't know if its worse or better that he had his Old Navy bat shirt (good old reliable standby, that shirt is) I just look like the mom who was too lazy to get her son a real costume and threw a bat shirt on him. Sigh. One mom commented "Oh, anyone who has a 4 year old knows that if they don't want to, there's nothing you can do" I wanted to say "Oh yah? I see your child has theirs on! Easy to say when you aren't the pariah." S'ok. I am still in the running for mom of the year, my medal is just slightly tarnished ;

Cookie decorating....oooh was Ivy just into everything, in a good way. She was more attentive that most of his classmates, she sat right at the tables doing the crafts, decorating the cookies, playing the games..... and of course charming the pants of everyone there, she was the only younger sibling, everyone else was smart enough to get a sitter. She had so much fun being a big kid tho!
Kade's paramour. He had come home talking about her a few times but I thought nothing of it. Until, that is, I was in the class as helper last week .These two! Holding hands and sitting beside each other at circle time, she has to be right beside him playing during class, they partner up for everything.. humph. She is adorable, actually, and so funny. It makes me laugh how she chases after Kade and he's not quite sure what to do about it...
There's my son, in the lame bat shirt. Shaking my head. But I realized that since his friend had the same costume, he probably just had the good fashion sense not to want to wear it. So really, I am up for the gold medal. HA!
The mystery box..Kade loooved this and spent 15 minutes trying to guess everything and got most of them! I think he got 8 out of 10 things, he was so determined!
