Kade is really enjoying grade one and his school, of course his favorite part is recess, but also enjoys the crafts and drawing that he gets to do as well. He is reading like a fiend, working his way through tons of books. He has now graduated to reading small chapter books, and his newest love, comic books (Disney, not X-Men type!) and his teacher had to bring in harder books from the other classrooms for him to tackle. We are amazed daily at how well he is reading and excited for all the new experiences and self learning that the world of reading opens up for him.
His class had an artist come by and share some techniques, and he showed us one at home, how to draw eyes. He already draws better than I do. Which isn't saying much actually, because stick men are my specialty.

Mike went to his sisters wedding the weekend before last, so the kids and I had a great weekend together. Friday we had a Wii and pajama party night, which was a ton of fun. Then Saturday we went to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs in 3D, which was a fantastic movie, the best kids movie to come out in a long, long time. Ivy was a little bit scared at the huge falling food, but sat on my lap and snuggled for those parts, and was just fine. Kade loved the whole thing.

And the kids helped me garden a little while ago, we tended to the blueberries with some peat moss and mulch, and there is nothing these two like better than helping me dig in the dirt!

The kids are starting swimming lessons this Sunday, and are completely excited to go with their friend Ev, and I am excited to finally get them booked in! Of course, pictures will be posted!
